Tracing the steps of the Duke
After a visit to the Estense Castle and the Po Delta Environmental Studies centre the itinerary takes you to the eighteenth century “Torre dell'Abate” and the nearby Bosco della Fasanara or Fasanara wood. Continuing towards the sea, along the Bosco di Mesola or Mesola wood, you arrive at the eighteenth century tower “ Torre Palù”. To end your journey make your way towards the lagoon, pass the Roamnina refuge and you arrive in the centre of Goro.
The reflections of green
This route takes you along the coastline. From Mesola go along the bank passing around the Bosco di Fasanara. Descending southwards with the sea on one side and the Bosco di Mesola on the other you reach Goro. Once you arrive at the Po river mouth, in the area of Gorino- by bicycle- it is possible to reach the most enchanting corners of the lagoon.
The flight of the Cormorants
Leaving the Pomposa abbey and continuing in a southerly direction along the S. S Romea you pick up the road that leads to Volano. After passing by Cannevi, the Valli di Porticino and heading straight through the centre of Volano the countryside opens out in to what are the Bertuzzi, Cantone and Nuova Wetlands. Crossing the scenic Acciaioli road, southwards, you arrive at the friendly Comacchio coastline.
By Bicycle
Leaving Gorino and taking the “ difesa a mare” route you reach the port of Goro. Continuing towards the Romanina refuge it is possible to cycle along route that leads behind the Bosco di Mesola. |
