Navigating on the water
The town can be visited by boat. There are two boarding points for the “batane” boats that volunteers, from the local Voluntary Association, sail, free of charge, around the towns canals. The “Batana” Association departs with its boats from near the ancient fishmongers and the itinerary takes you around the canals of the centre that reach the S.Pietro area of the town. The boats of the “La Comacina” Association leave from the Via Cavour canal, next to the Clock Tower. This itinerary takes you along the Lombardo canal, to the Capuchin Sanctuary.
Walking on the Bridges
If you park in Via Fattibello the monumental Trepponti Bridge is easily accessible. Continuing inwards you reach the Ponte degli Sbirri and following the Via Agatopisto canal the Ponte di San Pietro. On the opposite bank crossing a small terracotta bridge and turning immediately left you can follow the Via Buonafede canal and end up in the area behind the Old San Camillo Hospital.
Taking the right hand alley you end up once again on Via Agatopisto. Continue along Via Eduardo Fogli, following the water flow, you pass alongside the Ponte di Via Cavour. After crossing another small bridge, at the beginning of Via Carducci, you reach the Rione del Carmine and the Ponte Omonimo. If you then follow Via Stimmate and Via Muratori you return to the Trepponti Bridge.

Fogli and next to the old hospital, and future Delta Museum, you finally end up ate the CHIESA DELLO SPETALE. |
