Porto Garibaldi
Porto Garibaldi was once a fishing village named Magnavacca but it changed its name after the famous leader Giuseppe Garibaldi landed there in 1849. It is not only a welcoming seaside, tourist resort but it is still one of the biggest fishing ports in Europe.
The port is a dock for fishing boats and motor vessels and from here it is possible to go deep-sea fishing for mackerel and take boat trips around the Po Delta.
It is also famous for its seafood dishes and restaurants. Every year, to celebrate the 15th of August, the “FESTA DELL’AMICIZIA” takes place, where fried fish is served free of charge to all present.
